Dear Parents / Carers and friends
I wanted to write to you personally today, as you may have seen the inaccurate and very misleading coverage in the local newspaper.
As you will know, I started at the school as interim Principal in September to work with our Chair of Trustees to support further improvements to the school. This was only ever due to be an interim appointment while we secured the services of a permanent Principal. In January we advertised for this permanent role and when the new Principal starts – likely to be September this year – I will then step down. I have not resigned, and I look forward to continuing to support the school over the next few months. When I step down later this year, I will retire, after over 30 years of teaching and school leadership.
We have been delighted with the progress the school has made in recent months and the new Principal will be able to build on this strong and improving position. I have every confidence that the positive learning experience for children will of course continue.
I hope this is reassuring and clarifies the matter for you, but of course if you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.
We look forward to continuing to deliver a high-quality of education for your children over the coming months and years.
